2305 rockshaft blues

My JD2305 has a 62c under belly mower deck which raises and lowers with levers attached to the rockshafts. It won't lower unless I stand on the rockshafts though, seems the control valve for the rockshaft is almost closed and it WILL NOT turn one way or the other. Any Ideas on getting it unstuck without ripping the whole gear box apart?

Somewhere on the tractor is an adjustment screw/valve/thing-a-ma-jig that control the hydraulic flow rate.. Maybe it got tightened up so it wont let the 3pt go down..

on my 2320 (big brother to your 2305) it is a knob under the seat, between your legs..

I think he said he already tried that and the knob won't turn at all

You might try jacking up the deck a little to take the weight off. Cycle the hydraulics a little bit to relieve the pressure while you try to turn the valve.

Thanks I'll try that today. I tried to re-post later but I'm new at this. I went back and did manage to get the valve to turn freely- It was stuck completely open- but even though the valve handle turns freely, it still won't let the deck down without help. Thanks again Tommy
