JD 2305
Hi Gang,

I'm looking for a rear blade for my 2305 - mainly for snow removal and some landscaping work. I'm thinking a 6' blade is my best option?

Also wondering if I should just go with the JD / Frontier blade, or if there is another iMatch compatible blade (no adapters or mods required) that offers a more economical or better performing solution. Thanks very much for your opinions and experience!

I've got a JD 2210 and picked up a Frontier RB 0560 which was very well built, but then I bought a JD quick hitch. I then found a Frontier 2060 rear blade to fit the quick hitch, only to discover that the king pin and angle pin assembly wasn't nearly as strong as the Land Pride.

Be sure to look at those areas before deciding what to buy. It looks like the better built blades will have the angle pin on the side of the king pin assembly, not on the arm. If you only use a blade for moving snow you might be all right with the lighter built style, but if you will use it to move dirt, get the stronger design and you'll probably be much happier.

In lighter snowfalls a 6' blade may be fine, but if you are trying to move heavier snow you may have to angle a 6' blade quite a bit to get it pushed.

I had a RB1060 when I had my 2210. That was plenty for it in snow. IMO, 6' will be too much. The problem is when angled it will push the rear of the tractor sideways.

I have a 6 foot blade on mine but I also have a 4 foot snowblower on the front clearing a path for it.

You might want to go with a 5 foot blade then. 6 foot is too much by its self on a 2305. Even with the 5 footer you will need wheel weights, chains and rocks in your pockets.

Still have a question though..... Are JD or Frontier the ONLY implements that are iMatch compatible (without modification) ?

ALSO - any recommendations or suggestions regarding blades that are angle only vs. Angle AND tilt? Tilt seems like a nice feature, but not sure if one is iMatch/2305 compatible... Thanks!

Five footer is the right choice for your machine. If you go with the angle feature and to get the best use out of it you will need hydraulics to operate it. You will be very happy with that choice and versatility. I have a preference to Frontier and they have some great options, but not sure on the five footers.

I tortured myself a bit between 60 and 72 inches. I ended up getting the frontier 60" which has been a perfect size. It covers the tracks fully angled and has a couple nice tilt settings which a easy to use. Even nicer is being able to leave the tilt pin out and float the tilt of the blade, only getting high spots and evening terrain. Even the 60 will push the rear around a bit so I don't doubt at all the 72 could become a pain to manage...This is with a 2305/1026 with filled tires and sometimes some weight in the loader, no chains though. I haven't noticed (as you might expect) any real difference in the ground engagement performance btw the two tractors.
