2305 control knob setting

Hi all,

I have a 2305 with the 54C MMM. The decal for the control knob settings came loose, so now I have no idea where the 'Install', 'Lock', or inch positions are. How can John Deere get a reputation for a quality machine and screw up on nickle dime things like a flimsy decal; especially when a friend or neighbor is around when something like this happens, and hears me "make a comment" about what I think about John Deere trying to save money!?

Anyhow, I think I saw a picture somewhere of the underside of the height control knob and it explained where each position was; but I can't find it. I've gone through my manuals page by page, no luck. Does someone have such a picture or can direct me as to how to find out where the positions are on the height control knob, so that I can glue down the decal again and also use a permanent marker on the tractor deck to mark the positions?

Ummm, decals coming off, while annoying, can happen on anything. Could be anything from a poor batch of adhesive to a speck of moisture on the spot where the decal went. You shouldnt have any problem getting the info you need to reapply the decal in the correct orientation. Little things like this are frustrating, especially from a manufacturer that is known as a high end manufacturer, but I wouldnt use it as a barometer of overall quality. Enjoy your tractor.

On page 10 and again on page 18 of the manual, there is a picture showing the height control knob and decal. It's not real precise, but then again, neither is the knob settings.

I can see where that decal coming off would not be any fun. I use mine everytime I do anything with the deck. It's incredibly useful!
