Happy to say I started and ran my tractor after my rebuild of replacing the crank, sleeves, and 1 piston and rod.

Thanks to the forum and all who answered questions.

I ran it about an hour at half throttle to heat it up and check for leaks and get the loader back on and re-torque the head.

Should there be more break in period underload maybe and when is best to change the oil after this period?

Only an opinion but I would treat it as normal use including oil change. :2cents:

I would also recommend re-torquing the head gasket again after some more use until the bolts don't move anymore. Sometimes it takes a couple/few cycles for those gaskets to completely settle in.

I like the idea of re torqueing the head after a few heat/cool cycles. While in the process you should probably check your valve adjustment. It may change slightly when you torque the head. I'd probably change oil at about fifty hours, similar to a new engine.

YES YES YES

New rod, piston and rings. That is the right path to take.
