After some amicable domestic discussion and a little haggling with a couple of dealers, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a 2210 this weekend. Here's the latest quote:

-2210 23 HP MFWD diesel
-210 Loader with hood guard
-62C Deck

$13,500

Add iMatch hitch and ballast box: $350

Dealers in Delaware, Southeastern PA and Eastern Shore Maryland are keeping prices pretty firm on this model. The 0% financing for 1 year and 6.9% rate for 5 years thereafter comes into play with my trade.

How's that sound?

Does that financing apply for other models as well?? I might have to trade my almost new 4010 in maybe for a 4115 if my dealer will work with me. I'm trying to think of it like refinancing a house except it's a tractor and it will be new. Yea I know pie in the sky!!

Yup. All compact tractors including all of the 4x1x series.

With a trade of greater than $2,500, 0% financing with no payments for twelve months, then, up to 60 months at 6.9%. The promo runs through February. It kind of knocked me off of the fence, so to speak. You can read about it on Deere's site under the Special deals link.

I was in my local JD Dealer this past weekend and they had just received their first 2210. They are concerned that at the price of this new machine is very close to what someone might get a 4010 for. They have a good point The dealer also clued me in on something that I did not know, however I can not confirm that it is true. JD has a different departments for each class of machines. For example the 2210 has a department that just handles this machine and likewise the 4000 ten series has its own department. The impression that I got from talking with the dealer is that the two departments do not get along. This makes no sense to me. I understand that JD may think it is best to do this for marketing reasons however the departments need to work together to leverage all of their combined talents and knowledge to make JD successful.

Anyhow , enough of my rant , just some info to pass along. I hope everything works out with your purchase. I am sure that I am not the only one that will be interested in updates as to how the 2210 is doing and what your thoughts are .....

This price is consistent with the 2210 I saw today at the dealer I frequent. It had the Loader, Mid-mount mower, rear ballast, etc. Cute tractor - from what I understand it has been very popular with the hobbyists who have 3-5 acres lots here locally.

I have a 4600 and wouldn't trade it for the world - but that was one sweet looking tractor. Good luck!
