Any ideas whats up when you drive in third gear, and the transmission slips. Drives fine, and sometimes you just end up in a neutral situation. You can down click the shifter into second and away you go. Shift to third and drives ok and then slips again. ??????

Ideas appreciated.

I'm no powershift expert, but I would start by replacing the fluid and cleaning the screen unless it has been done recently. I understand there are spring loaded clutch disks in there than can slip with contaminated fluid. It probably slips in 3rd gear only because it requires more torque to get moving than lower gears, like trying to take off in a stickshift car in 2nd or 3rd gear with a slipping clutch. This is assuming you have proper free play in your clutch pedal....This is just in case an expert doesn't jump in /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If it will slip in a lower gear when applying the brakes, it is the main clutch. If it kills the engine in a lower gear, then the clutch pack will probably have to be rebuilt.

Thanks guys. Let me provide one more detail. The powershift shift lever seems "floppy", when I "fall" out of third gear. To go back to third, you must downshift to second, it will engage like normal, then somewhat forcefully shift the lever up to third. This slack is only between second and third on the powershift, and only after it slips out of gear. Mechanical shifter works fine in all ranges. No slips or stalls. I have plenty of power in low gears.
