<font color="green">Looks like the M128726 rod or shaft is the correct number for the 2210 after all even though it doesn't show up as a 2210 part in the JD Parts catalog online.
If you go to the John Deere web site and use their configurator to build your own 2210, under accessories for the 2210 you will find Quick-Tatch weights listed and right underneath it says "Requires (1)M128726 Rod, and (2)A15147 Spring Clips."
As far as the cost difference between my dealer and others, my dealer always seems to have higher prices for parts than other dealers hence my $17.59 price versus Bill's $15.99 price.
