2210 500 hour service valve lash

Has anyone done a DIY on the valve adjustments on the 500 hour service on their 2210? As I pass the 400 hour mark this spring I am thinking this is coming this year and wondered if it's like the valve lash on the old VW Beetle motors? Simple? or Dealer Only?

I've never done one on a 2210; but I've done it a number of times on my wife's old VW van and still do it for my old Toyota PU.

Don't imagine that it's all that much different from adjusting the valves on any other engine, I'd think. You'll need the Technical Reference Manual, and a new valve cover gasket..

I'm looking forward to doing mine when the time comes.

I've done it on my JD 455 which has an almost identical engine. It's very straight forward, easiest engine I've ever set the lash on. If you've done it on other engines in the past you should have no problems.

If you don't have the tech manual PM me and I'll cut and paste the procedure.
