I've posted similar questions before- but with 0% financing for 36 months starting yesterday- it's time to make a decision. I have 14 acres, about 8-9 to be bush hogged (open fields with some steep hills), another 3-4 acres too steep to safely manuever on (and I've decided against the powertrac/ventracs) and currently getting ready to put in 1.5 acres of finsished lawn. I have some fencing to do as well (i.e. a post hole digger would be nice). So, have some final grading to do, underground sprinklers, laying some sod, some misc. dirt moving, some driveway maintenece (but my neighbor has a grader and does most of it) and a lot of mowing (RM and finish mowing). I'm considering the 2210, 4010 and 4110 with a hydro (all 4WD due to hills). Most of my jobs will be mowing and the loader work shouldn't be too bad. I'm leaninig toward the 2210- as the above machines all only pull a 4 foot RM but I'd like to be able to dig post holes and am not sure the 2210 can handle that. If I get a bigger machine- I'll probably not purchase a MMM and get a lawn tractor for the wife. Thoughts?

I'd get the 4110 and a riding mower for the wife. I have a 2210 but I do not mow with it. The 4110 offers a LOT in terms of features, weight, tires, hydraulics and 3pt lift capabilities. The 2210 will be too little for a post hole digger IMO. The 2210 is a great machine but the limited category 1 hitch has it's limitations. The 2210 has tires that are just too small (IMO) to do that much hogging. Let your wife mow the lawn ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd get the 4110. You'll want the bigger machine in a few months....especially if you intend to brush hog and do any sort of post hole digging or road maintenance.

You have two options...get a mower for the JD (belly or rear) or buy a seperate lawn mower. Personally, I'd get a rear finish mower for the 4110. More seat time for you /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The 4010 has full Cat 1 3 pt and has more lift capacity (and probably height) than the 2210. The hydraulics on the 4110 are about 20-25% faster, and I've read where it has a separate pump for the power steering. It's also about $2,000 more than the 4010.

The 2210 has a position indicator for its MMM. If you want to use a RM, that's no different.

Both the 4010 and 4110 have cruise control. The 2210 doesn't.

I'd cut the lawn size down to no more than 1/2 acre and use a walk behind. That's what I use. Do it nude. That's the best way.

No. That's what the "limited" 3pt hitch is on the 2210. It can't lift high enough to meet the Cat 1 standard. At least that's how I understand it. For most things the difference is small enough not to matter. The lift on the 2210 is usually high enough.
