210 Loader

Has anyone actually measured the true lift capacity in terms of weight on the 210 loader? Reason for asking, I just did it on 318 project and I was amazed at the actual lift capacity.

The only thing that has "stalled" mine was trying to pop out a tree stump that was waaay too rooted to realistically even attempt.

My guess is you will have to over-ballast the back of the 2210 to find out what it can lift, back end gets light in a hurry.

Well it's on my to do list, and I'm going to find out what the little guy can do and I totally agree with the weight on the rear that will be no issue at the facility I'm taking the unit. The only reason I brought this up was that I had some weight laying around the barn and knew the weight, we played with it on a 318 and Kwik-way loader that I just finished working on a the shop and it's a fact on level concrete, it lifted 880 lbs 18" or so off the ground and I don't doubt it could have gone all the way up. Now I'm curious what the 210 can do. I'm going to be real dissappointed if the 318 outperforms the 2210.

What was the weight that you used and where was it located in the bucket or was it hanging. As you know JD specs the load capacity at the pivot point and so many inches from it. I would be curious as to what your findings are. The loader for the X series (which has the same size hydraulic cylinders as the 2210) was anemic compared to the 2210. I think the 318 uses the same hydraulic pressure as the X series (900-1000psi)

The weight used was as follows: 140 lbs (two 70 lbs sand tubes in the bucket towards the back), myself standing in the bucket (210lbs, my neighbor 195 lbs and a friend 335 lbs, he loves our brats). The three of us did get on the scale, so the weights are pretty close.

No numbers here. I have been cleaning undesireable stones and concrete from a previous owners' "landscaping" - a pile of fieldstones- in my front yard. I fill the 53" bucket about 3/4 full of concrete - so as to not pop the tires if I overload them on a bump on the way to the back yard- only once did the unit strain to hoist this load over the back fence pausing at about 3 foot high. so I found the max capacity at 3 foot height but have no idea what the pounds were.

I was looking at a new 2210 today. The brochure says it's rated for 640#, and the dealer informed me that Deere rates their FEL's at 1/2 of the tipping weight. So it sounds like it would take 1280 pounds in the bucket before the back tires come off the ground. I don't know if that figure included any ballast in the back or not. I also don't know what height it could take such a weight to.
