2020 Can-Am Defender Side x Sides

Rick personally I have owned Yamaha Honda Kawasaki John Deere and Suzuki and Polaris. That started in 1992 to present. In reality none of them gave me any trouble that causes my mind to remember. It is odd that after each different brand I went back to Polaris. I know can am is extremely fast but according to my friends that still ride always needing something to keep them going. In their opinion Honda is most dependable and automatic transmission works flawlessly just like a car. Hope this helps

Our Defender was governed to about 54mph max. It is BPR's work machine and the 1st one they built geared towards working people. I can't comment on other machines but we did operate a rhino 700 for 6+ years. It was a reasonable machine as well, but under powered for our needs.

On my Warrior 800, I have 2wd, 4wd, rear diff lock and front diff lock.
I have had it all locked up several times, for mud and hills, especially good for pulling others out of situations.

I'm not sure it is chinese without a doubt.
It has been a decent rig, it has a good ride over rough ground, decent acceleration, the fastest I've had mine is about 50mph.
I've only got a bit over 700 miles on it. I use mine for a lawn vehicle, and to get around the farm, to and from different fields
and farms as I understand it, it is road legal in some places but not were I live but with a SMV sign on the rear I do go down our secondary roads for farm work.
It starts good and runs good it is very nosily much of the time, I'm not sure if its because of all the steel amplifies the noise more then plastic or what.
The bed dump is slow to raise and lower.
My experience with the engine should not be the normal, I had touched up the coolant with supposedly a universal compatible long life coolant,
it wasn't. Some how it accumulated a hard waxy type deposit in the water pump and ruined the impeller at the same time I used it for some area lighting
for doing some tractor work, it over heated which I didn't notice till quite late.
I had a project getting it tore down, flushed and back to running again so far so good.
During the limited teardown I found both cam chain adjusters bad I had partially melted and the other was seized (they are plastic) after replacing them and adjusting the valves
it seems good.
They are some what decent to work on once you remove the box to access the rear area and if working on the radiator or front area remove the front hood,
which is fairly easy to do, accessibility is much nicer then the old mules that we have on the farm.
The thing I'm least impressed with is the braking capability, the brakes seem weak especially with the weight you are dealing with.
It is a wide unit but with the large 3 wide seating it has to be, it is also heavy but runs out good.
It is more capable then the older mules off road as far as climbing or getting thru deep mud with a better ride quality and much faster.
