That could turn into a double edged sword though, about the time that they hacked into your system.

It wouldn't have to be 1000#. A series of smaller (i.e. 10#) to cover an area would do a lot of damage. Using 100 drones with 10#, I suspect would cause more widespread damage than a 1000#. And, thermobaric weapons seem to be the most destructive - check wikipedia on that.
