2019 LS MT240HE 3pt. Down speed control valve stuck closed

Title says it all. Stuck closed and cannot currently attached implement. So..

- How to bleed pressure to lower implement?
- How to repair/replace control valve?
- How to disable valve?
- Specific location, how to access, and a parts breakdown of valve itself would be most helpful.

You should be able to turn it, at least with a little force. I wouldn't take a breaker bar to it, but maybe a little leverage with something like channel-locks.

Just make sure you're turning it the correct way.

THANK YOU! I do know about the valve and it is completely 'loosened' I actually removed the control 'knob' by unscrewing it all the way out (I did replace it though, but not tight). The 3pt is well up with an 1100 pound PTO chipper off the ground!

FIXED! As with so many such problems it takes longer to reveal the problem than it takes to fix it. I first thought about using my floor jack to lift the load on the lift arms to relieve pressure, but my theory was that there was not enough pressure to unseat the ball in the valve, assuming that the valve was the problem.. My plan was to loosen the valve itself and bleed off the pressure (messy as it was likely to be) and then deal with the valve.. WRONG!

The problem was likely caused by the factory or maybe the at the dealer during initial service. Look:

What I could not see with the seat in place was that there was a jam nut on the control's valve stem that was supposed to lock the hex extension to the shaft of the down-speed control valve. This is my first and only tractor, and while the knob never seemed to operate properly I had nothing to which I could compare as to how it was supposed to feel. The jam nut was loose (I backed it off a bit more for the photo). A pair of 12mm wrenches later and now I know how it is supposed to feel.

Thank you for the file as well as your input. The lift now descends like a mama putting her baby into the crib for a nap on a warm, Saturday afternoon, even when supporting an 1100lb. PTO chipper!
