2019 ford ranger review....

Don, We found the ranger, did not ride quite as nice as the taco did over bumps. A slight difference anyway.

We've liked the lane and collision warning signals system this ranger has. Maybe we're missing something?

Can you tele how the Ranger blind spot warns you that a car is in the blind spot besides the little light on the side mirror? Any audible warning?

It does give out an annoying beep when you get to close. We tried this over the weekend against another auto in our driveway, which was tested at low speed. For driving at speed down the street I've seen the light flash on the mirror, but not beeps. Maybe not close enough?

Curiously, can these lane drift/blind spot/collision warning alarms be disabled? I think I'd find them annoying beyond belief.
Don't currently own anything new enough to have any of this crap.

I’ve never found them annoying other than when backing a trailer in the vehicles I’ve drove with it.

I miss spoke. The blind spot/collision warning alarms have only activated for us while very close to other objects and at very low speeds. No lane wandering alarms so far, so we can't comment on them. Please note, we've not got many miles on this truck to date, we are only on our 2nd tank of gas!

I think the lane keeping can be disabled. I leased a car in Europe and finally figured out how to disable it after it drove me crazy. The roads were so narrow that it was constantly vibrating the steering wheel. No reason to disable the blind spot warning. It's not intrusive unless you habitually cut people off in traffic.

We had this machine on the road last night driving 55 and couldn't get any "lane drift" warnings to come one. Maybe the XLT version doesn't have that? Since we drive on snowy roads for many month each winter, I wonder how that would work anyway... I'll ask the gal who sold us the truck and see what she says about "lane drift" system.

That's what I though too but they do alert you when you make a mistake before it becomes costly. If you are a good driver they never go off and they always alert before the wife does which kind of replaces her.

They can be turned off.

The problem comes when people depend on these, There have been several that complain they cause a wreck by not alerting them because they had inadvertently turn them off.

The Ford Co-Pilot360 comes standard on the XLT and Lariat, optional on the XL. I'm looking at the Ranger book now.
Are you referring to the "Lane Keeping System" which "can apply steering wheel torque if it detects you drifting out of your lane. It can also use steering wheel vibrations to help you return to your lane."
