Mahindra 2655 HST Cab
I was drilling beans and had made a couple passes I started to make the next pass and when I dropped the drill the temp gauge went from normal immediately to hot so I quickly reached up to shut the tractor down it kept running a bit puffed black smoke and shut off. I got out and noticed fluid on the rt side of engine back by the cab. I left it for a few days and asked the dealer he said it would be OK to start it just to get it on the trailer. I took the trailer up and got positioned in front of the tractor. I started the tractor and it revved up fast I tried to shut it down and it kept running for a few seconds I let it set for a little while and started it again and seemed normal I quickly got it on the trailer. When I got to Mahindra dealer it started and seem normal for the small amount of time to get off the trailer and move to the shop. The leak appeared to be coming from a small hydraulic hose. The dealer replaced the hose and said it blew the new hose and forced hydraulic fluid into crankcase. ANY IDEAS???

Never heard what the dealer is saying before. Did he check the hyd pump? If not be careful, check oil after a few short time running. It could run away on you, sounded like it almost did.

Wouldn’t it have to be pumping the oil into the intake to make the engine run away? Was this oil line going to the turbo if that tractor has a turbo? If yes would be curious if oil pressure went to high could it force oil into the intake side of turbo causing a run away? This is pure speculation on my part.

I think the turbo is oiled by the engine oil, at least the ones I seen. But keep in mine I have a marine back ground. The engine well ran away if crankcase is way over filled. It well start suck oil out the crankcase and as it speeds up and before it blows apart there is only one way to stop it is shut the air off. DON'T use you hand !!!!!

Sounds like oil in the turbo to me. Probably the seal in the turbo went bad and is sucking oil. But, if it ran hot first, that could have caused the seal to cook. Sounds like a lot going on, chain reaction kinda deal.

Thanks to everyone for their post. What would/could cause the hydraulic system to over pressurize?
