I've got a year and a half old B2650 with just under 400 hours on it. Last Thursday I heard a metallic ringing sound, so I opened the hood and restarted the engine. I found that the weld on the outlet side of the muffler broke 360° at the muffler body to stub toe of weld.

I contacted my dealer (M&R Power Equipment, Butler, Pa.) And sent photos. They have a replacement coming and will swap it out with no problems or arguments. This is why I bought a Kubota... Great dealership support! I do recommend M&R if your in the Pittsburgh PA area.View attachment 620433View attachment 620434View attachment 620435View attachment 620436 20190905_161755.jpg20190905_161822.jpg20190905_161842.jpg20190905_163459.jpg20190905_161803.jpg

Good to know. My 2018 B2650HSDC has 300 hours. I will check mine.

Do they come out to your place to do a repair like that or do you take the machine there?

I wouldn't ask them to come loosen and tighten 4 flange nuts and a bolt. I told them I wanted called when it's in and I'll drop the broken one off and grab the new one. So much simpler....

Just a note folks, the 380 broken/replaced exhaust broke again at 510 hours, the exact same weld, the exact same way and place. This time I welded it up myself because I was in the middle of working and had dump trucks lined up dropping material for me. This seems to be an issue.

These are photos from the 510 hour weeks failure at the toe, the base metal cracked. In the first 380 hour failure the pipe wasn't broken at the radiator support bracket weld, this time that area failed as well.

Jeez, that sure looks like pretty thin walled tubing. I think they're skimping on the specs for that muffler construction.

I'm 5 years in at 350 hours. Garage kept. Some rust forming.

I was told you need to put 500 hours on these machines to "break em in"

So basically all the weak points pop and snap till you hit the mark. It hardly seems reliable, but thats just the way things are made these days.

I think I'll get some high temp paint, spray all my rust points down and cross my fingers.

I actually noticed rust forming on the pipes coming from the engine into the muffler and I hit them last year just to play it safe but I didn't take notice of the area you showed. Maybe I'll even put a little JB weld on it?

Thanks for the heads up
