MAHINDRA 3540
I have a mahindra 3540 that I just bought with 56 hours on it. It needs to have service done on the oil system, and hydraulic filter and strainer. I have changed the oil system, But now I want to remove the old hydraulic filter and clean strainer as recommended. The hydraulic oil does not need to be changed. My question is, can I leave the hydraulic fluid in the tractor when I am removing the filter to change it and when I am removing the strainer to clean it? Or is the hydraulic fluid going to spill out with the removal of either of these two item.

Okay, I have gotten my answer from a Mahindra tech. If I remove the spin off filter I will loose some fluid it I am fast with putting the new one on, if not it all will drain out eventually. If I remove the strainer to clean it, I will loose all the fluid. Best thing I see is to just drain the hydraulic fluid into a clean catch basin and make the changes then put the fluid back in.
