This car purchase will be with us until the day we Croak not worried about resale. The kids & grand kids can fight over it then.LOLFor what they get for a new pony car these days... I would look at a 4-5 year old Porsche 911 with low miles.. and not take a beating at resale time.
My boss has a Tesla and as you say they are crazy fast and fun.I'll probably get chased out of here but if you're up in that price range you may want to take a peek at Tesla. It's American built and designed, very much in my mind a tech forward muscle car and the insurances rates are reasonable. I pay ~$100/mo on our sub 4 second 85D since it's one of the safest cars on the road including 100% replacement in the case of totaling the car.
If that's not a crazy suggestion happy to talk more about it, they've got no shortage of torque and hard to believe a 5k lb car will do 0-60 in 3.9s(whatever you do don't test drive the P90DL, that 3.1s 0-60 is no joke). It has one of the lowest center of gravity of any production car due to all the weight being down low so it's an incredibly nimble car for it's weight. Not to mention you can do a whole costco run with the massive trunk + frunk.
You are correct dodge man.No interest in Tesla or Porsche just good old american muscle car..If your looking at cars like the OP is, your looking for a traditional muscle car, cars like Tesla, BMW, and Porsche aren't going to cut it.
Tesla makes a great car, two people in town have one, I'm impressed by them. Problem is always going to be range. One guy bought his in the Chicago area, I'm pretty sure he got it home on a trailer since they don't have the range to make it here.
