2016 Mahindra 2555CL HST failed pump? Powertrain warranty covered?

I would suggest if dealer won't cover it or do the repair, before you buy a new pump take the old one off and make sure it failed. Not knowing your pump I'm not sure how it could fail and have all the metal in the sump. At least the filters should have stopped smaller pieces. When my pumps failed they just wore out the bronze or a soft metal gear on it.

Getting anything from India right now is extremely chancy.. They are in the midst of a huge Covid Pandemic with people dying wholesale and the entire country is shut down.

Until that changes, don't expect too much unless someone has one in stock here.

If I were you (I'm not) the VERY FIRST THING I WOULD HAVE DONE WHEN BUYING THE TRACTOR was change all the fluids and filters. That is SOP with me. You didn't and that is a cardinal mistake to make. Don't buy many used but when I do, they don't go anywhere except to the farm shop for a changeout and that includes the air filters too.

I don't take anyone on their word when selling anything used. Talk is cheap.

When I sell a piece of equipment it has hard copy maintenance records with it.

The pump shown in post #10 is the hydraulic pump for the loader (if equiped), any remote outlets, and the rear 3 point.
It is not the hydrostatic pump that drives the tractor, that pump is built inside the transmission case internal to the tractor.
They are two completely different systems.

The hydraulic pump in the picture is a tandem pump, dual purpose. The dealer said hydraulic pump and since the HST is a non serviceable unit and no parts available at dealer level. They probably won't mention a pump for it, unless they were talking about the HST charge pump.
Besides it would cost just for the HST almost 9000 dollars, labor not included. And being parts of the power train should be under warranty
Also I could only find one hydraulic pump listed for the entire tractor.

Considering what it MAY cost and the lack of parts (From disease ridden India) and the labor involved (which will be a ton, Think I'd loose it. You'll have more in it than it will ever be worth anyway.

Interesting that the HS unit is not serviceable. Kubota's are so are JD's and Branson's (I think are at least)

There's a disconnect here ... Erkme73 ..The pump you posted (#10) is the hydraulic pump for the loader, steering (maybe) and three point. It is not part of the hydrostat transmission. I took your comment about speed & power to mean the power train. Some tractors use the transmission case as a fluid reservoir. In that case you still have a debris problem since the failed pump sent debris to the hydrostat.

On my 2538 the back half of the pump pictured powers the power steering, then through the oil cooler and then through a spin on filter. After the filter the oil goes to the HST pump. May be the same for the 2555. I'm still not clear as to which pump the dealer advisor is referring to.

Whatever parts are needed may not be an issue since the 2500 series is build by TYM with a Mahindra engine.
