Seriously thinking of getting one of these. Anyone have one or having problems with one.

Take a look at the crew cab Intimidator. Base pricing starting around 12k

I bought a 2014 4010 trans when they first came out last summer. Have about 55 hours on it now. Everyone's needs are different, the Mule fit our needs perfectly. My wife has RA and has a really hard time walking very far, and sometimes moving any of her limbs. Our priorities were that it had to be easy to get in and out of, had to have power steering, had to be easy to change gears/speeds and had to be reasonably quiet. Initially we looked at a single seater, but really liked the Trans when we looked at and drove it. We weren't looking for speed, just something for mobility. We live near Canyon Lake, TX and with our terrain, don't think I would really want to go any faster than what the Mule does. Initially my wife didn't want to spend the money, but I knew it would be a great benefit to her. Now, she says that she doesn't know how we could do without it. She loves going out with the grands in it. "Ruby" has had her 50 hour service. Very simple maintenance. Absolutely no problems since new. The Mule comes with a standard 3 year warranty now. I did look at a number of machines; the Kubota rtv, Honda Big Red-Pioneer wasn't avail yet, JD Gator 625 and 825, and the midsize Polaris Ranger.

Mine is a couple years old, so maybe there are some new features to them. I have the power stearing and fuel injection on mine. I added the factory sun shade and an after market hydraulic cylinder to dump the bed. In the last couple of years, the only problem that I've had is that there is a problem with the smog system that needs cleaning. The engine will start to run rough and you have to keep giving it gas to keep it going. The dealer took it and scraped it clean. There is a replacement part that is covered under warrantee, but I just had them clean it since it was a few months until they could get the part. I'd ask about it before buying, but assume it's been taken care of since they knew all about it once I had the problem.

I looked at most of the side by sides out there and nothing compared to the Mule. I didnt' want fast or mudding. I wanted reliable, easy to drive, easy to get into and comfortable to operate. My dad is 78, my mom is 74 and they use it every day.

Thanks Jim, I remember the Canyon lake area when it was still the Guadalupe River in Startsville. Quite a few years ago. LOL

This dealer I am talking to wants $495.00 for the Basic Top and $495.00 for the basic plastic windshield. I am going to get the top but have found better after market windshilds for half his price on the internit along with tons of other stuff. I will ask him about that smog system issue.

I just picked up an older (2008) 3010 Trans Mule Diesel. Love it so far. It isn't fast, but is a workhorse. Of course I didn't buy it for speed, much like some other posters, I bought it for work around the farm. Used they are pretty reasonable, and while the diesel is heavy and bit noisy, if you find a good one, it just runs and runs..

My company has a half a dozen or so 4010 Trans (Trans's? Trani? ). They are all diesel models. We have had issues with a few of them, but I really think the issues we've had are directly linked to the lack of maintenance done on them before I started taking care of them. We've had converter clutch issues, belt issues, shifting problems and overheating. BUT..... as I said, I think it's all because of lack of maintenance. They get beat pretty hard here and the places they're being used aren't set up do work on them. So they just keep running them until they drop.

That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. :D

They're easy to work on, decent on fuel, can haul a ton of stuff (ok, 1100 pounds), will go pretty much anywhere you point it, and can carry 4 people without squeezing them in.

They aren't the fastest UTV out there, but if you're not looking for speed, I don't think you'd regret getting one.

Good luck!
