2013 Cub cadet 2100 GTX Hydro Filter issue.

Hello all, I have Searched night and day for a answer on this issue. I purchased a new Cub 2100gtx last season and last weak decided to performed the first hydro oil + filter change. I purchased the 6 quarts of cubs drive fluid plus and the cub 723-3014 hydro filter. I noticed when taking the original hydro filter off, it only took maybe three turns before falling into my drain pan. Not many threads IMO, Well when installing the new filter the gasket is just shy of touching the housing before I start threading it on. I only get two turns before tight. Ran the machine and no leaks present but is that normal to not screw on with more threads. It's like the filter is holding on with only two rows of threads. I also did not see if there are any bleeding procedures on these units? Can somebody with experience with the cub 2100GTX hydro comment if this is normal or not....

I don't know if it's possible for the threaded tube (that the filter screws on) to screw into the mounting plate until fewer threads are showing. You could try gently wrapping a rag around it to protect the threads and use a pair of pliers to see if it turns and can be screwed out. If so, you may have to try some epoxy or loctite to prevent it from turning.

I would not let this bother me...but everyone is different.
Someone sold me the wrong filter, and it ruined my threads, so I did order a new pipe thread part....( the part you are talking about )
all is well now....so if it really bothers you....you could get a new part , or use lock tite on it, or do nothing....
and keep a watchful eye on it for the first couple of mows to see if it has loosened.

GTSRider, thank you for you reply. You have me thinking now I plan to run this season and then next year when I decide to change my Hydro fluid again I will order that Filter pipe that is in the hydro housing. You said you have replaced yours, How did you swap them out? is it hard to get out and could you explain your steps to remove and install the new pipe?

would consider yer prob a warranty issue and would wait until mowing season is over - take machine back to dealer and have him perform delicate threaded rod replacement under warranty. just MHO...

In the manual it says nothing about purging the pump is that correct? just want to make sure there is no air in the hydro system and what the best way to get it out is...

Never heard of purging air in these hydro trannies.My prior Cubs I just drained and refilled,then just double checked after a warm up/cool down cycle.
