There is a Mahindra 3016 with FEL for sale near me, they are asking $16,000 It seems a bit high to me? What is a fair price?

I paid 24200 + 900.00 to have mine brought up fromNC mine is shuttle loader backhoe and filled rear tires oh yeah thumb to.

It may be a leetle bit high, but as oldpilgrim says, it is all but new. Seller probably still owes that much on it. If you are really serious about buying it, discuss what he owes and offer to buy it at loan payoff amount.

Thanks for the replies so far....I may give him a call and feel him out. I really wanted a backhoe but guess I could always add one.

Be careful, dirtymartini... I wanted a backhoe, so I made sure I got it when I got the tractor. I can't even talk myself into 2 grand for a grapple now, I'd never be able to talk myself into 7 grand for a backhoe. Somehow it was a lot easier when it was just 'part of the bundle'.

The chances of getting another new or pretty darn close to new 3016 , is pretty slim, unless you're really lucky. Think real hard before you pass on it.

Depends on whose "fair" it is. This is a tractor I paid $16,900 for brand new with loaded tires which could add almost $200. I would want $15.5 tp $15.9 for my 38 hr tractor which I think is fair especially for how I take care of my stuff. Your idea of fair is apparently different so theoretically, perhaps the two "fairs" might meet someplace?

This scenario is just like asking how much something is worth. It is worth whatever the seller and buyer agree upon. These fine tractors are worth every penny.

I have a Massey Ferguson 1230 with FEL now and it's a little small for my needs right now. I may need to look for something a little bigger than the 3016. I'm thinking now maybe I should look at 35-40hp machines.

careful...the 3016 is rated for 1650 @ the fel and over 2200 lbs @ the 3 pt. It's sister tractor (3616 and same frame) with 6 more hp, is rated exactly the same. A bigger frame tractor has the advantage of more weight but not necessarily more lift capacity than the over achiever 16 series from Mahindra. You may have to jump to the 45 - 50 hp class to get an appreciable difference.

Here's some pics of 3016 capacity so you may judge for yourself applicable to the work you do. The big stem weighs in just short of 1800 lbs.

Thanks Arrow! Those are some impressive pics. I bought a 20 acre wooded parcel of land that I have started clearing so I will be doing a lot of similar work. I like the rear pallet forks, where did you get them?

TSC. I beefed them up however as they are rated for only a thousand lbs. They art not considered "forks" but are listed as a " utility 3 pt carry all".
