I know there is not alot of interest in CC trucks but....
This ad has been all over TBN lately, I've got an 07 3500 and would get another, not sure how the specs compare to Ford HD but they are pretty impressive.

More choices now with a gas engine option, not that I would want the gasser but some might and could save money.

I still don't get why they offer the HEMI in the 2500 pickup but not the 3500 yet you can get it in the Chassis-Cab 3500. It's also too bad you can't get the HEMI with the 6 speed Aisin making the diesel option a must. According to some sources though, the ZF 8 speed tranny is very close to production.

I was surprised to see the gas hemi engine in the CC, I don't think it was available in the past? With the cost of diesel fuel I'm sure some are jumping ship.

That Aisin is so sweet, I was thinking about it yesterday towing my overloaded dump trailer, don't have to touch the brakes coming down the steepest of grades, actually the steeper the grade the more it slows when you let of the throttle, with tow/haul and VGT turbo acting as engine brake.
You literally can't feel it upshift, it is so smooooth.

Maybe they figure it's to much tranny for a pickup?

I'm surprised no one has taken a CC and put a bed on it, just to take advantage of all those goodies under the CC.

Pics from yesterday, ~22,000 pounds

I would be willing to bet it has more to do with the cost vs. demand.

There was one guy on here a while ago (Mr. Jimi...?) that passed a while ago and was doing a pickup bed conversion on a Ford chassis-cab. As I recall, it was much more difficult than expected due to frame width and body height.

On a side note, that's a great looking work horse you got there. It makes my little RAM 1500 and 10k dump trailer jealous. :D

The cc bed length is 9 ft min, so you would have to cut the back of the frame or move the pick up bed back and have a space between the cab and bed. I'm sure it wouldn't be simple but definitely doable.

The only problem might be poor ride quality, before the service body was ready, I had the truck for a month and drove it around a little it was so stiff you needed a kidney belt if you wanted to go for more than a few miles.
It was really brutal and did actually hurt. With that heavy body it is not bad at all.

Thanks for the comment on the truck, I finally own it :) made my last payment. I have been totally happy with my choice to stay with Dodge/Cummins. Made it easier that I had a 2500 for 12 years before this one. But this was all new for Dodge, first year of CC, new 6.7 Cummins and a Japanese tranny! so it was not a sure thing. But now I know I could not of done better with another brand.

My trailer is 10 K also. I got it when I still had the SRW 2500, I thought it was so huge when I first got it. But this truck is capable of pulling more, if I ever need another i would go to 12 or 14 k, only problem with 14k is that the truck is 12.5 so that would put it over the 26k CDL baloney. Maybe I could get a 14k and register it for 13,499.
For now the weight capacity is ok, I run out of volume with the brush at only 10 feet.

As Dmace stated doing a pickup conversion with a cab and chassis is tough. I know a guy with a 2002 F-550 that he put a bed on. He had to do a body lift to the cab because the frame rails have such a high arch over the rear axle. Issue is no one makes a lift kit for a F-550 so he used a F-350 plus tons of custom parts. He used a SRW Superduty bed with aftermarket dually fender.

I would guess all said and done they had a few hundred hours making work and look right. Its a towing beat though.

Mr Jimi was doing nearly the same thing till he passed. RIP

I don't understand the desire to have a p/u bed. I opted for an aluminum flat bed with flexi- liner sprayed on and have been very happy. Tons easier to hook up a GN trailer, can load pallets from either side and loads of tie downs for anything else. A fuel can rides without tiedowns, a 2x4 will stay in place too.

I can see it fits your needs but it would never work for me. I would spend a hour doing tie downs to go 10 miles. We haul mulch, fire wood, boat stands, camping gear, ect. Lots of loose little items.

Guess that is why the make all kinds of stuff so we can each have what we want.

Also people want pick up beds cause they look good.

Kinda hard getting a date driving a flatbed, utility body or dump around :D
