Tractor
Kubota L5740HSTC-3, Toro Z153, GMC Topkick w/Altec LRIII, Vermeer BC1250 Turbo, Rayco RG1620, too many trailers
My local dealer is taking in a 2011 L5740 with turf tires, cab, air, heat, FEL and Kubota front mount snowblower. It has 240 +- hours on it for $35,000. I need to upgrade from my Ferguson TO-35. Any opinions on the price?

That is a nice tractor. Will he negotiate the price?

I guess prices vary by region, but if it was down here, it would be gone by now.

I like everything but the Tires. Any Remotes?

If the combination you listed is what you need the price is very good. If the dealer checks it out and there are not any issues I would buy it.

That's a very nice tractor for the price....I wouldn't want the turfs but wouldn't stop me from buying it.
When I purchased mine ,my dealer claimed the turfs were better than the industrials in snow.

He's pretty firm on price. I dont know about remotes and dont have an immediate use for them, at least not that I know of now :) Turfs are what I'm looking for. I own a tree service, so the gentler on lawns the better. Its primary use will be moving brush and wood from lawn areas and general around the yard use like stacking/loading firewood. I've read turfs do better in snow too.

There you go, perfect. I saw it as a negative, new tires are not cheap. But is is a positive for you. Snap it up.

The dealer just got it in today. Turns out I was wrong on the hours. Its 140, not 240. Everything is like new. Couldn't get him to budge on the price, but he did throw in a rear wiper and some hats :D I put my deposit down and now it just has to get through service and the loan go through!

I envy you the heated cab and all. I have turfs on my old Kubota, and they work well for snow removal. With chains, if you need them, it would be unstoppable. A lot cheaper to buy than tires, too.

Congratulations I think you got a good deal.

Congratulations, that seems like a heck of a deal to me and it even has the HD bucket, I sure wish I could have found one like that.

Don't be surprised if initially you don't "get" the advantages of HST+, it took me a while to learn to use mine to full benefit, now I love it. I put bucket hooks on mine and they are very handy.

Congratulations!

Are you planning on keeping the front mount snowblower? I hope so, because I want to see some pics of that baby blowing snow this winter. :D

THERE ARE NONE!

Fred

Maybe not for some, but I traded my L5030HSTC in on an L5740HSTC. My 5030 had three speeds, 5740 has six speeds, to me that alone is an advantage.

That's a clean looking tractor. It looks like the bucket has never seen dirt, snow maybe. I'll bet the person selling it was sorry to give it up.

I brought it home today! The blower/loader changeover isn't as bad as I thought. It doesn't have any paying work until tomorrow, so I had to play around today :dance1: The HST+ is awesome! Automatic dual speed makes loader work a lot faster and the response control is nice. It doesn't even notice a 6' disc behind it. I'm excited to try the loader out lifting logs tomorrow at work! Now to convince my fiance I need a camera that shoots HD video for snowblowing...
