If the tractor and implements are in good condition that's a good deal. The tractor isn't actually optioned out, everything except the 2nd remote is standard on the DK. The synch shift is the only tranny available for the 55. If I recall, the 55 has a turbo engine, if that matters to you. Obviously check it out, but if it's as advertised and it's what you want, go for it.

I haven't used a synch shift.

My experience has been on JD's with the PowerReverser...

Is this a similar set up?

Yes, same general gear set up. However, you cannot shuttle from forward to reverse without using the clutch. To change direction you must put the clutch in, then move the shuttle lever. I do not believe the tractor needs to be at a complete stop to shuttle or shift gears. A lot more clutching with a straight gear (what this is) than with a Power Shuttle.
