Hello.

I have about 625 hrs on my tractor. Just was out in the 25F weather clearing snow. Changed to "H" and it was grinding the gears (heard the grinding for about 3-4 clicks and immediately backed off. Went in "H" no issues. Now, the lever is extremely hard to move through the ranges. It feels as if it is really bound up (best description).

Any suggestions?

Check out the linkage, especially underneath. You could have snow packed around the linkage. It could be further complicated by melting then freezing around the linkage.

Does the hydrostat center to neutral properly when you let off the pedal?

I will check it out tomorrow, its been in the garage overnight & today (around 40F) so it shouldn't have any snow/ice on it at this point. Will let you know.

Not that I know of....can you be more specific? I don't ever recall mine doing what you're asking. I typically use M range other than neutral to start it.

What I mean is simply this. When you move the tractor then come to a stop you let off the direction pedal. At that point the spring loaded pedal linkage brings the hydrostat to neutral and the tractor stops moving. In theory, at this point you should be able to move either pedal an equal distance before the tractor begins to move in whichever direction you're moving a pedal for. If the travel on one pedal is shorter and the other is longer, then the involved linkage may be out of range causing some "creep" when you think it's in neutral. Not enough to move the tractor but maybe enough to turn some shafts when the range is in neutral.
