Yesterday out bush hogging, I stopped and shifted into first to weave in out and around a few trees. Now it won't come out of gear. I can shift between high and low, the PTO and clutch work fine. I even tried reaching through the fill hole to see if I could pry it out of gear. No luck. I even tried again the next morning after the tractor cooled down overnight. No luck still an I don't want to put needless pressure on the shifter and possible break it.
How complicated is it to pull the top off of the tranny and take a look inside? Should I plan on a half day or so for that?
I don't have any manual but have owned "vintage" cars my whole life so I'm not too worried and will take careful notes and pictures during disassembly as needed.
Any feedback on what I may run into, any advice, etc., will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric
