New to the group so not up to speed on using it's search features but did not find answer when I searched.

I have a 2007 TYM T330 (manual trans), it has the Kabota D1503 engine, with about 500 hours on it. The starter needs servicing, but thought I would get an extra one while having this one serviced.
Problem: Have to "key bump" starter 1-15 times before it engages and starts tractor. External circuits check good. You can feel solenoid "kick" in when key is turned. I'm guessing brushes or armature problem.
Question: Does anyone know which aftermarket starter will work for this tractor? Don't want to spend $450 for an extra one while having this one serviced.

Thanks

I am sure you have cleaned and tightened all the battery and starter connections ? I am lucky to have an old time starter/alternator shop near me where you walk in the door and the guys will say ahhhh... a starter off a 1940 Chrysler before you even get to the counter...

Same problem with my T450 last year... started fine in warm weather but did the click thing when cold out... put a wrap/ pad heater on the starter to limp through winter, then had solenoid replaced in spring and worked fine after that ( water got in somehow ???)

Still having same problem with starter in winter... solenoid kicks in fine but starter will not turn over ( same click of death). Only works after turning on heat blanket wrapped around starter. Talked to a dealer about it and this D*** problem and said should bring in to test ( and would put in freezer over night) Was told probably heavy grease on gear( none on it so lubed with best lube for cables on motorcycle) NO JOY !!!

Can't believe motorcycle grease is low temp like snowmobile grease.

Assuming you have tried "jumping" the starter signal terminal with straight battery voltage during one of these "no start" incidents and confirmed it to be a starter problem and not just low voltage from the signal circuit?
