Well thanks again to all who have helped me in the search for my tractor.
I can say tractor...right, not mower?

I didn't check every function on tractor because I didn't know how to or what to look for nor did the lady who showed me the tractor. Work had brought me just 10 miles from the tractor so a general over view was all that was done justifying a second, more educated visit. Please keep in mind the tractor is 200 mile one way so it is tough to just drop by.

On my tractor the foot operated differental button is in a down position with the tractor sitting and in photos of new tractors the button is up. Is that a sign that would indacte a problem? I have never checked the positraction function but plan on doing so this Saturday, Below is the photo showing the depressed button

Probably the parking brake is set. The parking brake also engages the differential lock. That "button" should pop-up when you release the parking brake.
Also, once the differential lock is engaged it will NOT release if the differential is in a bind - so if the lock was engaged and the tractor was moved with the front wheels turned it might not didengage unless you streighten the wheels and move the tractor a little to release the bind.
Looks like you have found a great tractor at a very good price. Enjoy it!!!
