Kubota BX 24
New to the forum and wanted to get in a post. I bought my unit last November and left it in Montana til I put her to work last month. Somehow I missed that the shell/fender was cracked on each side presumably from regular step up by a good sized individual. It looked like a horrible design by Kubota so I checked whether there was a bulletin/fix issued. Indeed there was (in 2006) for parts and labor but it expired in 2007 or somesuch. The dealer checked with the regional Kubota guy who offered to provide replacement parts with out charge but would not cover labor. I'm good with this. I'll pick up the parts in a couple weeks. Instructions are included so I'll try and do the install myself.

Welcome to tbn. There were a number of upgrades Kubota offered for 50 series owners at no charge back in the day. Replacement seat, reinforced steps and fenders, and new lever covers come to mind. You can search here for details or speak with the Kubota rep maybe.

That "upgrade" was added to my BX24 by the dealer. Now I have to be very careful when installing/removing the mower deck. On the right side the added frame interferes with the spring loaded pins on the mower lift linkage. If you pull the pin back and latch it and then raise the lift arms all the way it will bend the pin and arm. I have spent a long time under the deck pondering the problem and can't find a solution. But I do love my BX 24.

Take Care,
Doug in SW IA
