2006 2615 PTO not engaging

2006 2615, 4x4, gear Mahindra 500 hrs. When I go to engage the PTO lever nothing happens, there is no resistance on the PTO lever. Any ideas?

Are you connected to a PTO driven implement? Or are you saying the PTO will not engage? More information will be helpful.

PTO does not currently engage. I curently have a bush hog attached. I have not taken the bush hog off and tried to see if the PTO would work but I did not think that would make a difference?

drifter, have you checked to see if you have a broken shear pin on the bush hog? I think you will find such is the problem. If so, be sure to replace it with a shear pin, not just any old bolt. Shear pin - Ask.com Encyclopedia
