Tractor
Looking
I have an opportunity to buy a 2006 Mahindra 2415 with a ML 195 loader and 1710 subframe mounted backhoe for $13,000. It has around 700 hours on it.

Is this a good deal? Also any negatives I should know about this tractor? Key points to look at when going to see it?

Thanks

I've been told the year that a tractor was built is less important than the hours of operation.

700 hours seems mighty low compared to some equipment I've seen at Richie Bros.Auctions, for example.

Although I have also heard average 100 hours per year on "home-owner" machines, which still makes this a low-use model.

13K for a TLB sounds like a good deal compared to what I just paid for brand-new 2638. Leaves a LOT of room for repairs...

If all functions operate as they should...if the grease zerks are greasy...if the fluids are clean and topped-off...these are good signs.

Does the seller have any paperwork that shows regular maintenance, fluid & filter changes, any repairs or warranty work?

These might give you an idea of the history of the machine. Most important: Do you feel comfortable operating this tractor?

A little seat time should give you the best idea of whether or not you should take this tractor home.

Just my .02 cents. :tractor: ding beep

No experience with the 2415 but I recently sold a 2006 2615 that I owned for 12 years. It was a great tractor. Other than batteries and maintenance the only part I replaced was one fan belt. Of course it comes down to how the tractor was treated and maintained. Check all loader pivot points for slack.

I just checked tractor data and the 2415 and 2516 had the same motor but different loader. My experience with the 2615 was positive.
