Today I tried to start my TN-75 and it wouldn't start, would just turn over so I bled it and finally got it to start . It would rev up normally for a couple of seconds and then die down to around 1000 rpm. It will idle fine but when I give it more throttle it makes more smoke but will not rev up. I checked the hose from tank for obstructions, nothing. I replaced the fuel lift pump with a new one and no improvement. It is cold here in eastern canada so I dumped 1/2 gallon of methyl hydrate and injector cleaner in with no improvement. Let it idle for 1/2 hour and no improvement. If I shut it off and bleed it at the filter and then start it up it will rev up again for a couple of seconds and then the same thing. Feels like it is starving for fuel but why would it smoke, you would think it would be running lean. Thanks for any help

Does it get air?

Well I opened the air filter cover and there was no change. I did not remove the filter itself but can't see it getting that bad between running prefect one day then acting like this a few days after sitting. That being said I am going to change the fuel and air filters tomorrow just to see. The fuel filter was changed a few months ago, maybe 30 hours on it

It sounds to me like you might be getting some air in the fuel system. If you have to take a fuel line and put it in a jug right from the transfer pump?

I guess I should have changed the fuel filter first. I changed it today and everything is perfect again. Moral of the story is just because you changed it recently doesn't mean it doesn't need changing again.
