If all it ends up being is a clogged fuel filter and stale fuel, my advice is to get it fixed and move on. Should the selling dealer have caught this? Yes. Is it worth pursuing reimbursement? Not in my opinion. Why? You end up getting aggravated, which lasts as long as this 'battle' with the remote dealer drags on. Every time you use the tractor you'll think about it. Life's too short. My advice is to use this situation to develop a good relationship with your local dealer and turn the selling dealer into a distant memory.

My TC 55 came with enough fuel to get off the trailer and drive 300 feet to my storage building before it died. I asked the service manager and he had intentions of putting fuel in but he stated their fuel container was out. I didn't expect a full tank but enough for a couple hours operation would have been great.

Dealers are not prone to keep lot tractors full of fuel. There is a little item called a siphon which some folks think is a source of free fuel. A lot full of tractors with full fuel tanks is way too tempting.

i filled mine up while on the trailer on the way home. 6.5 gallons in the 7 gallon tank.

$15K tractor and they wouldnt do me the service of puting $10 worth of fuel in it.

I think it depends on the dealer. When i bought my used NH 7610s.. it came with fuel and new oil / filters.

When I ordered my TC55DA it arrived with an empty fuel tank from a different dealer to my dealer. My dealer went all over the tractor and filled it up with fuel when they delivered it at my house.

I think it should be said also, that a 'full service' on a tractor can be a significant amount of money.

20g fuel 50$
nearly 2g engine oil 16$
hyd filter, fuel filter, oil filter, 2 air filters 86$
UTF fluid up to 40qts 70$
shop labor

When you get a tractor that has had all that done.. there is a significant price vaule there... throw in free delivery too.. and see where that puts you... along with a hat or two.. etc..

ya but with service like that im likely to show back up and pick through your pile over overpriced used impiments for what i need.

you scratch my back, ill scratch yours....

otherwise we all play hardball cut throat, and us owners are unlikely to loose at that game...

(for example the arse clown of a dealer i have has missed out selling ~$600 of used (bottom of the line) attachments to me because he was unwilling to come down from the $1000 he was asking for them.... so instead i searched out craigslist and found the same type of attachments in better condition, better quality for a third the price....)
