Any tips, tricks, or words of wisdom before I tear into it. Bout to browse the web and see what I can find. But it looks like a PITA.
Missing out on snowplowing as we speak:mur:
Drove the truck/plow to work, I get off at 2:30 and was ready to plow.Truck started fine and ran for ~10 minutes as I was cleaning the windows. Got in it, just as I pulled onto the road, she died and wouldnt restart.
Pulled it in the building and put a big torpedo heater on it thinking I may have a froze line. Nothing. So I cracked the inlet to the injector pump and cycled the key. Pleanty of flow there. Cracked the output of the pump (high pressure going to common rail, not the return), and nothing at all. Not even a drop.
So...i dont see how it can be anything but the injector pump, but its odd that it ran fine for 10 minutes and then died suddenly. And only 81k miles.:mur:
I see 3 bolts at the back holding the pump on, but its tight in there. Is there a hidded 4th bolt??? and does anything need to come off the front? That would involve pulling the fan and shroud and serpentine belt?? Or could this possibly be some other issue before I dig in? And what is the electric plug on the injector pump for?
Any advice appreciated? now to do some googling and see how many of these questions I can get answered.
