You mean the NEW L3700 , R4 s with FEL for $16,650 NEW I could use a Hoe , I have about 3-4 jobs I could do NOW , at my place . But after that , it would sit alot unused . My friends and family are like GET the Back hoe ! But no one is giving me any CASH ! I am just looking for the best deal for me . I think I would love the 3130 with BH , but I also LOVED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the L3400 HST that I missed ( owner backed out ) would not sell . I drove it for almost 3 hrs ! LOVED the HST !!!!!!!! Cheapest L3400 HST , R4s, FEL around 500 miles is $13,000 with 500 Hrs , I think the new L3700 for $3650.00 MORE than used L3400 is a good deal also . Also if I buy the L3130 with BH , I'll need a bigger trailer . So MORE cost !! I only have a 16 ft heavy duty car hauler ( 3500 lbs axles )

What to do .... What to do ....

New VS used
Used older tractor with BH and withOUT HST and less Hp Vs New Used tractor with HST and more HP .

Buy the new one. Flat out. Rent a hoe then, done. You'll love that machine for years and years. Haul it your present trailer.

So, how was that for an answer? :D:D:D

I hear you say, repeatedly, that you LOVE this or that particular tractor.

Here's the thing for me. These tools are lots of money. Whether one pays cash or make out a check each month, you're gonna live with your decision. I have found it much, much better when laying out cash or making a commitment for 60 months it IS IMPORTANT to LOVE your machine.

Feeling only OK about it every time you go out to the shop or fire it up, only means one thing. You'll end up selling it or trading it, or making the payments with half a heart.

So, there it is. A cowboy only gets so many bulls to ride in his life. Make this decision one you are genuinely excited about. If you aren't crazy and staying up nights waiting for it to be delivered, it's the wrong machine. FWIW.

Well ANY Kubota is better than my 45 yr old Ford . I do hear what you are saying . I think the HST is better on any tractor . I guess I just need to DRIVE Both. I need to go drive the L3700 NEW , and drive the L3130 USED . But the USED tractor is not looking as good now , older, HEAVY !! ( so new trailer :() and NO Hst , New is NEW , so hard to beat that ( just NO BH ) . Thanks for all the help , I am just a LOST :confused2::confused2:, newbee wanting to step up into the world of FEL, 4x4 , etc :licking::licking:

Just remember that the BH will run you 7K to 8K on the newer tractor. I honestly would buy the 3130 and do the work with the hoe and then sell it for what you paid for it if not more and then buy the new one. That 3130 is a lot of tractor for the money. Nothing replaces having a hoe either. That hoe would fit on any Grand L or L4400. It is worth 5500.00 to 6000.00 all day long. Those kind of deals don't come along often. That new tractor will always be there. But as mentioned previously, do get what would make you want to sit on a tractor. If the 3130 doesn't do it for you then don't get it.

I'll make it easy. If you absolutely want an HST, buy the new tractor. If you are OK with the transmission on the L3130, definitely buy the L3130 - at $16k it's a screaming deal.

Is the L3130 a straight DT gear tractor, or a shuttle-shift (GST)? I have a GST and it's an awesome transmission choice. I'd prefer an HST for running my snowblower, but that's about the only application that I think it would be better. OTOH, if the L3130 is a straight gear tractor, I wouldn't even consider it.

Goochy, my wife says hold out for the HST. She is all done with Gear tranny's, she never liked our B7500DT. But she "loves" our Hydro tractor. Well I tend to agree, I would never ever go back to a gear transmission.. but...but... wow, that is one heck of a deal on that rig. I have very little use for a backhoe here, just too much ledge rock, a lot of ditch digging around here is by rotary rock cutting machine. But you might have a lot of use for it..OR your relatives and friends surely do... I guess that is kind of a strike against it...:( well you have a very difficult decision to make, or you could take some of the posters advice, and buy it, use if for a while, see if you like the glideshift, (I think that is what it is) get all your backhoe work done and sell it, most likely for a profit, and invest in a new machine later? I also dont think the horsepower thing is a big deal compared to the L3700. You run out of traction before you run out of horsepower in ground engagement work as others have pointed out, and that tractor has the edge on traction. I dont know man, that is a tough one, drive them both, if at all possible, then plunk down your hard earned cash.. Best of luck man

I bought a 2008 l3240dt last year with 50 hr. on it, I still haven't found a better deal than I got. Until I saw your deal ! I didn't think I needed a BH, and since could have use multiple times. I love my tractor but envy your deal.

......maybe sell me the BH to lessen your financial burden????

Goochy...Just another opinion in the fray. That is a really good deal. Why not buy the tractor and use it for awhile. Nobody says you have to keep it forever. If you do not like it, sell the tractor minus the backhoe. Then buy what you want...maybe an L3940 HST and put the backhoe on it. I do not think you will be out of any money...and you can shop for a good deal on exactly what you want later...since you will be too busy playing, (working), with the one you just got.
