2005 GT2254 carb linkage for 22 hp B&S motor

I don't know if something fell off or is bent but the engine now runs either wide open or barely idling. The adjustment screw has no affect and the arm at the bottom of the carb bounces. Any ideas or pics of the assembly? Choke works fine and the throttle cable is in the same setting it has always been.

Looks like the Engine is a Briggs, Model No. 40H777

From what you have described, I'm guessing, and I could be wrong, it's a governor related issue.

Here is another thread that discusses a governor issue on a B&S 20 HP intek engine, not exactly the same engine that you have but very close.
There seems to be similar issues to what you described.
There are some photos, that may at least give you an indication if something is missing or not, maybe it will help.
