2004 Kubota BX2230 Pricing Help

I'm closing on my new house soon and going from living in a townhome where I do no lawn maintenace to being the proud owner of 2.5 acres. The current home owner is offering to sell me his Kubota BX2230 with all the attachments for 10k (see below). I'm scrambling to figure out if I should pull the trigger on this or find a better deal. I know the seller and the equipment has been well maintained. If this seems like a decent deal, anything I need to look for when kicking the tires on a Kubota BX2230?

Tractor: 2004 BX2230 with just over 600 hrs on the clock
FEL: model LA211
Grass Catcher: PTO three bag unit model GCK6O-BX.
Snow Blower: BX2750A
Mowing Deck: Model RCK60-22-BX
Also includes a utility/dump cart that hooks up to the tractor

I'm glad I found this forum and think I'm going to be spending a lot of time here regardless of what tractor I end up getting.

Well after finding tractorhouse.com and doing a little research it seems to be a fair price. My only concern is that it looks like I can get into a newer model with lower hours for not much more money. Of course, I could always buy new and take advantage of the 0% financing.

Let's say maintenance has been meticulous and the machine has not been abused, how long should it last?

Looks like a pretty good deal considering it has a snow blower and grass catcher. With proper maintenance it should last a few thousand hours.

10K is not bad and you might get a newer Tractor but don't forget the attachments they are not cheap.

I'll just add that there is some VERY expensive attchments (snowblower, bagger system) not often found for sale. Those two items would cost around $5,000 extra on a new set-up- I'm guessing close to $20,000 out the door for a new unit comparable to the one you asking about.

The big question- do you want and/or need those attachments? If you do, you are looking at a decent deal on the used machine.

That is a very valid point. I'm not finding any used baggers and snowblowers in my area. I guess I'm trying to make myself feel better and spending 10K on a tractor.

I do want those attachments and will be putting them to good use for sure. Sure, I'll use the bagger to collect grass, but where I really want it is for fall leaf cleanup. The property has a lot of trees and is surrounded by dense woods.

The driveway is probably 75' long and two cars wide, so the snow blower will come in handy.

I'd comment that our BX2230 has been completely reliable since 2005, with about 550 hours on the clock. Very good little units. Our issues have been very minor:
1) Had to discover it has there is a second in-line fuel filter hidden underneath in addition to the one you see in the engine compartment. You have to change both, of course.
2) The original air cleaner bracket doesn't stand up to engine vibration at low rpm. Eventually it will fail. There's an improved version available from the dealer, but I just cooked up my own reinforcing solution before it actually became a problem.
These are amazing little machines. One of my all time best purchases.

I have a 2004 BX23 which is the BH
version of
a 2230.
Bought it new and it is still going strong with nearly 1300 hours.
