2004 Kubota L5030 HST
My HST 5030 has got me vexed. I hauled hay (round bales) last week and when I parked it all was well. Monday night I started it, warmed it up for 5 minutes, increased engine rpm to 2000, and pressed the forward pedal. It immediately died and I heard a clicking sound somewhere on the right side of the engine.
It started right back up, but when I pressed the pedal, it died and clicked again.
It will idle, lift the hydralics (fluid is full and clear), and rev to whatever, it just dies every time I push down on the pedal. Kubota suggested a fuel filter, which I changed. Problem remained. Now they are talking hydraulic pump, which I pray is not the case.
Any ideas?

Thanks much,

Larry

Seat safety switch? Maybe it thinks you're not on the seat...

seat switch would also be my guess.

It was worked too hard the last time out and just wants a rest!:D:D:D

One of the safety switches may be overworked and under contacted!:D

It's hard to imagine the thing wouldn't realize my fat butt is not crushing it, but perhaps I've over-crushed it:eek:

Check the seat switch. If my switch is not made click off it goes when you hit the go pedal, let up and it runs.

Guys, thank you sooo much. It was the seat switch!!! I can't believe it. I thought maybe hydraulics. TBN rocks.

Better give that Kubota dealer a wide berth in future. I'm no expert but even my first guess was a seat switch.

Mine does that all the time. The seat switch got bent and easily moves to the off position like no one is sitting down. It will cause some tense moments until you figure it out for the first time.
