I have never owned a tractor but now I find after buying 3 acres I need a tractor. I found a Kubota b7800 for 3000 what I need to know if it is big enough to do the work I need it for. can anyone tell me if it is big enough to till a garden hall and spread rock in my driveway.

The B7800 is a 30 hp tractor. It is powerful enough to till a garden. My 7510 has no trouble with a 4 foot tiller. I have spread numerous loads of rock and dirt with it as well. Assume you have a front end loader with the tractor. Depending on the grass on the 3 acres I would go no larger than a 5 foot rough cut shredder and no larger than a 6 foot finish mower - maybe 5 foot on that as well. How many hours on the tractor? Service history? Gear or HST?

BTW welcome to TBN.

HI. Welcome.

The b series is a good machine. My BX does all you mention with no problem. I think the b size would be fine.
As wcambell47 mentioned. What condition?

Owned my B7800 for over 2 years and very happy with it. Used it make new roads through the woods-moving lots of material.
Also, moved lots many heavy rocks for landscaping. Good size tractor for moving firewood, as well. If it's in good shape and
has been properly serviced, I would buy it.

A B7800 will amaze you at what it will do. It's a cheaper version in it's day. Doesn't have some of the features of the higher end tractors in that size. But it's tough as a boot and will give you much service. If it runs and functions with no apparent deficiencies it's worth $3000 easily. If it's clean it's worth twice that.

And if it is nice and shiny in the pictures, has 4wd and a loader, and the seller is asking $3000, it's very possible that it's a scam. As with any sale of used goods, proceed with caution. Make sure you see the tractor you're buying before you pay anyone anything!

That said, good luck searching! You'll never regret being a tractor owner.

If it's this one it DEFINITELY looks like a scam.
