I never expected my MTD (Lawn Chief) to last me 14 years. I have never changed the air filter. Never greased anything.
Never replaced the belt.
Replaced the battery about 4 times?
Replaced blades 3 years ago.
Replaced head gasket this spring.
I did change the oil and filter every season w/synthetic.
The tires are dry rotted terribly, they are so full of slime they bleed green.
The chute has been riveted together with a cut up plastic garbage can lid and about 50 rivets.
It is still running, but I am picking up a new Cub Cadet LTX 1050KW next week.
