The PLASTIC molded mounting tabs on the inside of the hood have broken on one side, that the hood pivots on, and bolts to. Has anyone had this problem, and what was your fix?
My thought is to grind the remaining tabs off, make stainless steel angle brackets, drill hood, bolt to hood and attach the brackets to pivot points. Head of bolts wood be on outside of hood. Then the next issue would be the hood wood crack. Similar problem with X500, hood cracked PLASTIC.

Not the same size at at all but on my JD GT 235 I have made several repairs over the years using the two part plastic clue and scrap pieces of plastic on the back side for strength. I think the key is to rough up the surface for a good bond. The plastic hood on my JD mower is why I bought a Mahindra tractor and most recently a Kubota. A couple of weeks ago I managed to bend the hood and grill on my tractor and was able to straighten it to almost perfect condition with a pair of pliers. My one experience with a plastic hood is my last. When the GT 235 gives up the ghost I will replace it with something with a metal hood.

Have had steel on my 2-cyl JD 420 that took a falling limb and left a crease that was near impossible to straighten. Always could see the mis-shapen hood.

A larger limb landed direct on my 4300 and just left a slight scratch. I'll go with plastic.. no question.
Do have to be careful on the tabs that secure the panels in place. Won't take rough treatment.
