1. What is the proper warm idle speed?

2. What size landscape rake can I go with, 6,7 feet etc?

Thanks, and happy digging/mowing/splitting/seeding/plowing/loading!!:D

I use 1200-1500 RPM for idle speed.

I'd suggest going with a 6' rake, depending on what your usage is. You might want to rent a rake rather then buy, initially.

Thanks Roy!

What I meant was - what warm idle should I see if I pull the hand throttle back to the stops? Sorry for the lack of original clarity:eek:

On the rake, I seem to have no problem with a 6 ft blade, so I reckon I can go to 7 ft on a rake - but I will take your advise and do more homework.

Egads - I knew I forgot something::(

Roy will know this one, most likely:

What is the correct FRONT turf tire size for the MFWD 770 when equipped with 13.6-16 turfs in the rear?

That Roy is quick, isn't he? On the rake, make sure it's not so wide that it hits your tires when you try to rotate it around. Other than that, it's not so critical. I use a 6 1/2 footer on my 790 and it seems about perfect. You want to cover your tire tracks, even with the rake angled. Some extra width lets you cover tracks even when turning.

Nope...can't help on turf tire sizes. Could have when I had my 670 (since the manual was a 670/770 manual) but that went when I traded my 670.
Sorry!

Here's a site that I've used to find info on various tractor models. If the data that you're looking for isn't here --- there's other links here that might point you in the right direction. TractorData.com - John Deere 770 tractor data

Good luck.
