Do any of you use 2 cycle oil in your diesel fuel ?? I started using it about a year ago after reading about people using it for lubrication of the cylinders after fuel changed to the low sulfer . I also use it in my diesel truck

How much do you use? Do you use any additives like power service or just the 2 cycle oil? synthetic or regular?

do you get additional soot out from the exhaust when using the 2 cycle oil?
what exactly are the benefits and trade off of using extra oil in the diesel?
did it loose any power by having double use of oil mixtures?

Go to the oil and lube and fuel fourm on TBN, you can read old posts about this for hours.

Never tried 2 cycle oil, interesting...

I run Seafoam in everything I own, its good stuff, the yanmar runs smoother/quieter with it...
You can add Seafoam to your engine oil as well, it will clean and remove moisture.

seafoam is good stuff, can be used as fuel stabilizer as well in gas. the stuff is spendy though between $7-9 can where you go. wish it was cheapear id use more in everything. powerservice is what the deisel gets it works out to little money well the seafoam would to at the rate i use deisel. The boat and small engines go through so much fuel i woul spend a lot on the stuff if i used it everytime

I don't use power service Just the 2 cycle. Most people I've talked to that does this adds .64 oz. to a gallon of fuel. This is how much I use in my diesel truck. I don't notice any more smoke than b-4.

Aahhh, but the real question is does it rev up like the chainsaw :p 1st diesel to hit 10,000rpm  All joking aside I have allways used 2stroke oil for breakin periods on all my engines. For full time use I strongly believe in Marvel Mystery Oil.

Yep i am going to run it in mine now and not use B20 in it either. going back to dino diesel after hearing of Californias problems. i run 2 stroke oil in my Landcruiser at 300:1( litres) so i will run the yanmar the same. the common rail injected diesels cope well with ULSD but mechanically pumped ones dont as i had a major pump failure at 61k with catastrophic consequences in the Cruiser so i dont want that to happen again ( cost too much )

my cummins is a common rail ( pre emissions diesel) that's what I started using it in . It lubricates a 2 cycle ingine. I don't know why it wouldn't help lubricate a diesel & it's designed to burn
