Re: 2-12\" plow

DDT, make sure the plow will fit your 4300. I had a 2-12 Ferguson plow that would not go far enough to the left so the right rear wheel would ride in the furrow. An older JD 2-14 fit fine.

Re: 2-12\" plow

That price seems high, as this plow has very little means for adjustment and it appears to be without coulters to cut the sod ahead of the plow. Condition-wise, this plow, however, looks to be in good shape. The comment about it fitting your tractor is an important one to consider too.

Re: 2-12\" plow

This plow should fit left to right, I it just like my 1-14" plow. I don't think I can pull a 2-14 so a 2-12 would be a good choice for me. In my area this is a very rare find, but I have not found one any cheaper. I have not talked to the dealer yet about coulters or a manual. the dealer is 130 miles away but my brother lives very close, I know he could deliver.

Re: 2-12\" plow

You may do a lot better at an auction for a 2-12 complete... they are rare here in the NE US as well...

If you have to buy the "rest" of the pieces... it would end up economically unfeasible... /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Re: 2-12\" plow

I checked out farmstar and they list a 2-14. again I would fell better with a 2-12. I have priced a howse 2-12 there about $550 with the freight.

Re: 2-12\" plow

Before you pay a lot of money for a 2-12" plow, let me ask what you are going to do with it? If you're going to be breaking new ground every year, then 2-12" is probably what you need. But, if you're like me and re-plowing and existing garden or something, then you could get a 2-14" and take one bottom off the first year. Then, every year after that your tractor could probably handle the 2-14" plow in the already broken soil. Just a thought.

Re: 2-12\" plow

I plow alot of small and large gardens for hire. A 2 bottom plow would get it done lot faster. most of it is broke ground, but there is alot of new every fall so I need to keep my one bottom for those places.
Kevin thanks for the site.
