I have a 45 h.p. Yanmar engine in my New Holland 3045 Boomer. The 54-man lifeboats on the offshore rigs where I worked, also had Yanmar engines. Yanmar is excellent. Japanese Kubota ..... I do not care for how the controls are set up but these are very popular, seemingly well built machines. Korean Kioti ..... don't know how much truth there is to this, it is said these are copies of Kubota using poor metallurgy in castings to save costs to sell at competitive pricing. Kioti may be on the same level of quality as Bellarus ? And for discussion sake ..... India Mahindra are legal copies of the older Massey Ferguson models. Early Mahindra had metallurgical problems that may [or may not] have been solved.

Your information isn't accurate.

I heard they are legal copies of older IH machines, not Massey Ferguson.

If I remember right...

Mahindra had a partnership with IH, TAFE with Massey, and Escorts Limited with Ford.

These agreements would be quite old as well.

Gee I sure wish I would have had this information 23 years ago when I bought my Kioti DK that has been stone reliable the past 23 years/2500 hours and still working like new. (Number of times the times the tractor has been back to the dealer = 0)

Had a Yannmar tractor years ago, never again. Kubota is the benchmark all others are chasing in the small tractor market. Yannmar does make very good motors though having one in my JD Gator, it has run flawlessly for 15 years.

Buddy bought a YM, living in CO, drove to TX to buy. No problems from what I hear.

Me? Just go get a local Kubota, not worth the time.

1) Not comfy? Trade it, go get something that fits better. Nobody says no to that trade.

2) Do it work good? Surprisingly well. I'm good, back is good, life is good.

HP means nothing IMHO. I'm too old to care - see #1 or #2, your poison.
