Not according to Kelly Blue Book; about $2k too high. But keep in mind that you didn't tell us if it has air-conditioning, power windows, mirrors, door locks, cruise control, stereo, dual rear wheels, which engine, and the condition. When they get that old, it car vary greatly with the condition. So it just might be a bargain for all I know.

Two years ago I bought my 1994 Ford F-350 4x4 dually dump with the 7.3l IDI diesel, auto tranny, 54,000 miles and a 9ft fisher plow for $7800. Even if it had 154,000 miles, I would have bought it for the same money. It has a proven engine and tranny combo. The truck has been a workhorse.

If it were a Ford, I would say that is a good deal and I am a Dodge guy. Most likely the reason that truck has such low mileage is because the mid-90's Chevy diesels were the most unreliable diesel engines ever built. That truck probably spent most of its time broken down instead of working. Personally, I would stay away from any Chevy diesel that is not a Duramax.

I have to agree. I currently own 3 Ford Diesels but had a Chevy Diesel. I would buy a Cummins or Powerstroke with 10 times the miles over a 90's Chevy Diesel. They lacked HP but did have good torque and nice MPG. The problem is parts and finding someone who knows how to work on them or is willing to work on them. **** the injector pump alone is nearly a $4000 fix. My ex father in law had one and ended up pulling it and putting in a 383 stroker.

I lost intrest in it when I called about it and found out it was a flat bed with duel rear wheels.
Don't wan't that set up for a truck that also has to be an every day driver.
I Was hopeing it would be a pick up type bed that dumped and had single rear wheels.

pull the fuel filter element out and shine a flashlight down inside the housing, if you see shinny metal shavings plam on spending around 3500-4500 for a new injection pump, and having the fuel system cleaned.
my budy just bought a real slick 95 with a nice flat bed on it. 6.5 diesel 3500 extended cab, price 1500.00

Better yet...just stick a magnet in the housing and see if you get any metal. If it's present, besides the inj pump, you will also need to replace the lift pump...that's where the metal came from.

I've bought parts and got advice from Walt at SS Diesel Supply. He deals in just 6.5 Chevy Diesels. The 6.5 isn't a bad motor,the fuel system is lacking,if you do the modifications it can be better. I have to change my oil pressure sensor occasionally,it shuts off lift pump in a accident to prevent fuel spillage resulting in a fire,when switch malfunctions it puts a strain on the injection pump because lift pump is down.I have the heat sink relocation kit on mine for the pump mounted driver. It gets up to 18 mpg when it is running right,I need to have injectors,glow plugs replaced,the injectors should be replaced every 100 thousand miles. I have issues with mine now,changed sensor yesterday,lift pump isn't making noise with key on. I have to chase it down,could be air leak in system , I got a service engine light this time. The 95 chevy is OBD1, you can jump the diagnostic ports on the plug under dash with a paper clip to flash the codes. plowking
