Does anyone have any experience on what is involve in rebuilding the hydraulic selector valve on this tractor? I'm talking about the valve in front of the seat that switches the hydraulic from locked out (forward) to 3 point hitch (centre) to loader (rear). I think I'm having some issues with mine for a few different reasons. I don't think the 3 point hitch is working up to par. Lift and holding capacity seems to be a little lacking and at times when I have it in the rear position for the loader it will pop out back to the centre position. I plan on changing the hydraulic fluid and thought is there was some servicing/rebuilding of the valve that could be done I would do it at the same time.

Thanks

Dave

My valve likes to move around on its' own without me moving it. It was a simple fix involving a bungee cord to hold it rearward, but my loader must be plumbed a little different than yours since my 3 point and loader can work well in the rear position. Before you get into the fix maybe try the bungee to hold it in place before getting into something more involved ?

Thanks for the reply. That will be a temp fix but I need to be able to move the lever freely to switch between the loader and the 3 point hitch.

Dave, without taking apart, not sure why it pops out, but would reseal and check the detent ball, spring and groove in the spool. The book for the 3930 does not show the spring and ball for the detent under plug #2, but the same valve from an earlier 4600 shows it. I have attached pictures from both.
The first is for your tractor.
