1991 Deere 955 - leaking fuel on top of motor - unknown location - & e-brake lever
I have a 1991 John Deere 955 with just over 3200 hours. It just recently developed a diesel fuel leak on the top of the motor near the rearward "glow plug/injector/bolt cap looking thing with fuel line going into it" area. I don't have the motor tech manual so I cannot tell you exactly what part it is.
I filled it with fuel yesterday and may have spilled on top of the motor. But I started it and ran it for a good thirty minutes yesterday after fuel up, and cleaned up the fuel off the floor and re-parked it. The fuel did not dry off the top of the motor during that 30 minute run, the motor seemed very cool; it was like 15 degrees yesterday. Today I go out there and there is a small puddle of fuel on the floor and that area on top of the motor still looks wet. It's not engine oil; it's absolutely diesel. Anyone have this issue before? I picked up some engine degreaser and carb cleaner to try and determine if there is a source to the leak.
Also, I cannot get the e-brake to engage, any advice? I greased the pedals and all points as per the manual.
Also, my actuator linkage for the FEL needs replacing as well as the oins. Any advice.
Thanks a ton.
Luke
