1977 4430

Bought a used JD 4430 a few months ago. Battery ran down, had alternator checked, it was bad, replaced it and now it will not charge the battery. Had it checked and it was good. I cannot figure out this problem. Any suggestions?

Is there dash light for the alternator or battery? Some charging systems that have a light will not charge if the bulb burns out.

Not much works in the cab, it has been disconnected, but will check and see thanks

We will try all, it has a guage and pegs out like it is charging. no light. Thanks for all the help

4430 came from factory with ah mounted voltmeter. My guess is the alternator isn't getting any electricity from ign switch to excite it.

Thinking the same, just did not know if it had a dash light.
